St. Louis Rams @ Detroit Lions -3
The St. Louis Rams are 3-0-1 against the spread this year and 2-2 overall this year after going 6-44 over their last 3 plus seasons. The Rams need Steven Jackson to hammer the Lions defense to help put this road game into their favor. The Lions rush defense is allowing over 150 yards on the ground per game, and the defense as a whole is ranked dead last in the NFL.
Sam Bradford is showing everyone why he’s well deserved of the number 1 overall pick this past March as he looks calm and poised on every down. Rams quarterbacks combined to throw just 12 passing TDs last year, while Bradford already has half that amount just 4 games into the season. A big reason to Bradfords success is this seasons outburst of fellow Sooner Mark Clayton, who was aquired just prior to week 1 from the Ravens via trade. Clayton is on pace for 1200 yards and 8 TDs, and he should have a huge day against the Lions weak secondary.
I believe Calvin Johnson on the other side of the ball won’t have as big a day this week as many people think. The Rams have two big physical corners in Ron Bartell and Bradley Fletcher to keep Johnson at bay.
Also keep in mind that the Rams are tied for fifth in the nfl with 10 turnovers, and is giving up just 13 points per game, good for 3rd in the league.
