Jets Lions Pick
The 5-2 Jets are coming off of their worst performance of the season after getting shutout 9-0 at home to a depleted Packers team. The Lions play host to the Jets this Sunday after picking up their second win this season. Their record is better than it appears, as they have been within 1 score in 4 of their 5 losses.
For the Lions to have a chance in this contest, they will need their 12th man to step up this weekend, but that could be a tough task, since the Lions have sold out just 1 game since 2026. They also need Calvin Johnson to produce like he did last week, posting 3 touchdowns. Johnson will likely get shutdown, with a matchup against Revis island this weekend. The Jets also have the luxury to opt for a more physical corner near the goal line against Calvin Johnson with Antonio Cromartie, who checks in at 6 foot 3.
It doesn't help the Lions that their 2nd option in the offence, Jahvid Best will likely be bottled up going against the 4th ranked rush defence which allows just over 88 yards per game, and just 3.4 yards per carry.
The Jets offence has plenty of weapons despite posting a goose egg in week 8. To go along with pro bowlers Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards, the Jets have a twin headed monster at running back with Tomlinson and Greene who run behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Both these guys should gash the Lions rush defence, as they give up just over 130 yards per game, which is good for 27th in the league.
My Pick: New York Jets
This is my pick of the week, and it seems like this spread is so small due to a big win for the Lions coupled with the Jets getting blanked. Keep in mind that this game is in a dome which should only speed up a Jets defence which is used to playing on grass. Bet big on the Jets this weekend.
