Green Bay Packers @ New York Jets (-6)
The 5-1 Jets host the 4-3 Packers on Halloween day as one of the marquee matchups of the day. The Jets are coming off their bye, and are now significantly healthier than the Packers as they will be sporting a healthy Revis for the first time since early in the season. The Packers may have one of their stud corners in Al Harris active for this contest, after not playing a down this season due to being placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list in March.
This spread truly baffles me, as I believe it should be at about 4 to 4.5 points. The Jets have a great rush defence, averaging 7th in yards per game, and 4th in yards per attempt, but as we all know by now, the Packers don't run the ball after losing Ryan Grant for the season as they simply can't rely on Brandon Jackson and John Kuhn.
The Packers have the second best quarterback behind Peyton Manning. Aaron Rodgers is basically a more athletic clone of Peyton Manning, he studies the game as hard as anyone, doesn't throw red zone picks, is as accurate as they come, and is capable of making all the throws. Despite adding Antonio Cromartie and drafting slot corner Kyle Wilson this past offseason, the Jets rank 17th in yards per pass attempt and 22nd in passing defence. I expect 275 yards passing and 2 TDs for Rodgers, which should keep this contest competitive throughout.
My Pick: Green Bay Packers +6 The Jets are no doubt one of the best teams in football this season, but so are the Packers. This game will be tough for the Packers to win in New York, but they have the firepower on offence, even with the loss of Jermichael Finley for the year to pull it off.
