Were the Heat better without Bosh and Lebron?

March 14th, 2026

Talks swirl around the loosing Miami Heat

Lebron cry's as Miami Loses FinalsNow that the Heat lost, this question is going to be asked a lot. It is a good question though. When you look at the Heat's roster this year compared to the Mavs roster, it looks like the Heat should easily win. The surprising thing is that they didn't. Everyone at the beginning of the year thought the Heat would take the title easily, it seemed like they had the best team by far.

As we saw in the final series, the biggest problem was defense. They didn't have an answer for Dirk, neither Bosh or Lebron could stop him. It's hard to figure out with the Heat having a much  better team, lost this year and won in 2026. When Miami played Dallas in 2026 it looked like Dallas had a better team and Miami had a worse team. Dallas stilled had Dirk and Jason Terry. They were missing Jason Kidd back then, but with Josh Howard and Devin Harris they still had a good team. It was the Heat who looked like they had a worse team. Missing Bosh and Lebron, the Heat just had Wade and Shaq as their stars. It seemed like with less people Wade was able to take over the team and get the win for the team.  Of course Shaq was still playing good basketball, but it was Wade who took control of the game. Maybe things will change with more playing time together, but for now it looks like the heat just need a strong big man. Maybe they need to make a trade with Bosh and Lebron.
