Us fans or sports bettors will look for almost any edge in picking a winner. Some fans would even go so far as to simulate the Super Bowl once the matchups are pronounced. I used updated rosters and simmed the Super Bowl, and this is what happened:
First Quarter:
The Steelers jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead with a 14 play 6 minute 52 second drive capped off with a 3 yard Rashard Mendenhall plunge into the end zone. Following the touchdown, a James Starks fumble set up a 44 yard Steeler field goal.
Second Quarter:
The second quarter was uneventful until late with both the Steelers and Packers exchanging a couple of 3 and outs. With 2:33 left on the clock, the Packers drove from their own 20 all the way to pay dirt via a Greg Jennings 33 yard touchdown reception. On the drive Rodgers connected on two 3rd and longs, and looked loose and calm in the no huddle offense.
2026 Halftime Score: 10-7 Steelers
Third Quarter:
2026 The third quarter was all Packers, as they drove 76 yards on the opening drive in the half, capped by a James Starks 1 yard dive over the Steelers line. Following another 3 and out by the Steelers, the Packers then drove the ball again down field with ease, only to be stuffed at the Steeler 3. The Packers settled for 3, which then pushed the Packer lead to 17-10.
Fourth Quarter:
With Roethlisberger just 11-17 for 142 yards and an interception heading into the quarter, Big Ben decided to take over, by posting an 10-12 quarter for 137 yards and a touchdown. Shaun Suisham provided a field goal early. With the lead 20-17, and the Packers getting the ball back after Big Bens go ahead touchdown with 4:24, Rodgers would lead the Packers on a seemingly easy drive. Rodgers led the Packers down the field in just 2:11 capped by a James Jones 11 yard touchdown reception. With 2:13 to go and the Steelers down just 4, Roethlisberger would manage just 1 first down and followed that up by a Tramon Williams interception, sealing the game.
Final: 24-20 Packers win it all
