NFL Football Fantasy Mock Draft 2010 Round 5

February 6th, 2010

NFL Fantasy Mock Draft 2010 Round Five

Round 5 contains a lot of guys that were valued higher, but didn’t really perform to standards to to injuries with guys like Brandon Jacobs, Marion Barber, Steve Smith (Car), and Pierre Thomas.  If they remain healthy next season, look for this round to contain various bounce back year type players.

49. Brandon Jacobs – RB – New York Giants

— 1000 total yards and 6 TDs.  At worst will maintain these numbers, and will still enter 2010 as the main option in New York.

50. Marion Barber – RB – Dallas Cowboys

— May not be the closer he once was in Dallas.  With the emergence of Felix Jones late in the season, Barber will likely come off the bench next season.

51. Steve Smith – WR – Carolina Panthers

— Capable of taking any ball to the house.  Despite a struggling Jake Delhomme in 2009, Smith still managed 972 yards and 7 TDs.  Will enter 2010 healthy after breaking forearm.

52. Ben Roethlisberger – QB – Pittsburgh Steelers

— As tough as they come, will continue to produce big numbers while shifting the focus to the run game.  The focused effort towards the run game will only open up the passing game for Big Ben.

53. Donovan McNabb – QB – Philadelphia Eagles

— Nevermind the trade talk with Donovan McNabb, he isn’t going anywhere, and barring an injury, he will start 16 games next season.  With a vast amount of weapons at his disposal including game breaking DeSean Jackson, it looks as if McNabb will have everything under control.

54. Darren Sproles – RB – San Diego Chargers

— The Chargers will address the running back position during free agency or through the draft following LTs likely departure this off season, but it won’t affect Darren Sproles as he will have the opportunity to carry the load next year.

55. Pierre Thomas – RB – New Orleans Saints

— Thomas is set to hit free agency in March, so he could leave the Saints.  If he returns, he will likely be the starter, and get the bulk of the load even if Bush also gets resigned.

56. Steve Smith – WR – New York Giants

— One of the most productive players in the slot position, Smith is Eli Mannings favorite target, and should continue to produce good or even elite wide receiver numbers.

57. Donald Driver – WR – Green Bay Packers

— Managed to outperform Greg Jennings in 2009, but is getting older and the numbers will likely decline some.

58. Jerome Harrison – RB – Cleveland Browns

— Finished 2009 with over 900 yards from scrimmage and 7 TDs.  Went on a wreck over the last 3 games, rushing for 561 yards.  Sleeper selection.  Will give some carries away to Chris Jennings.

59. Jason Witten – TE – Dallas Cowboys

— Had over 1000 yards, but just managed to find the end zone twice.  May taper down a bit in yardage, but I see the TD production quadrupling.

60. Jay Cutler – QB – Chicago Bears

— With the addition of Mike Martz in Chicago as the new offensive coordinator, the current pass happy Bears, will get even more pass happy next season, which can only mean good things for Jay Cutler.
